After completing the quiz, I was very surprised to see who my ideal candidate was for several reasons. First of all I had no idea who he was. Second, I already thought that I was leaning towards one candidate and their views before I completed the quiz. Then after completing the quiz, I find out that that person's views whom I most agree with isn't even the candidate I was going to vote for. I also don't believe that my "ideal candidate" has much of a chance of winning because I have never heard of his name before. And probably doesn't have as much of the funds to run as president as the other leading candidates.

Medicare Perscription Act of 2004

Over the years, perscriptions for all people especially senior citizens, have become increasingly expensive. The Medicare Modernization Act was meant to address this problem. Under the MMA the government is prohibited from negotiating discounts with drug companies as well as establishing a formulary. It prohibitied the government from providing medicare directly, yet put no restraints on private providers.
Therefore, I believe that the Medicare Perscription Act of 2004 also known as the Medicare Modernization Act somewhat accomplished its goals. I believe it did not benefit one private provider, but instead benefited the industry as a whole. It provided more business and opportunities for private holders, and granted citizens more opportunity to gain access to medicare plans, and thus perscriptions.

NY Times Podcasts Ebola Virus

There was an outbreak of the Ebola Virus in Central Congo. This virus attained its name from the Ebola River. Even with the amazing amount of technology we have today, we are still unable to find the origination of the Ebola Virus. There are theories which suggest that it originates from bats, monkeys, or apes but the origination of the virus is ultimately unknown. More so, we are unable to create vaccines and cures for this very deadly virus. The Ebola Virus is fatal and its victims die quickly. During its initial stages, doctor’s find it difficult to distinguish symptoms of the Ebola Virus from the common flu. Doctors and those fighting to overcome this outbreak of the Ebola Virus are not afraid of the disease spreading too far and too quickly for several reasons. First of all, Central Congo is more of a remote region which keeps the outbreak centralized within the area, but it also slows down the advancing of supplies and medical aid to the infected areas. Second, those infected with the virus die quickly and therefore, don’t have much time or opportunity to spread the disease elsewhere.
